Dental implants have become a widely accepted treatment modality. Making evidence based supported decision on saving or extracting a tooth is not an easy task. This course will discuss the process of prognosticating (assigning a prognosis) based on available information.

Criteria to assign prognosis will be discussed. Also, long term survival of compromised dentition will be presented as it relates to clinical settings. Finally, available data on implants verses alternative treatment prognosis will be compared. AGD Code:  693
