AGD Code: 490

3 Hour Lecture | Technical and Scientific

Dentists: $65 | Hygienists: $50 | All Other Categories: $45

The evidence confirming the role that inflammation of oral origin plays in cardiovascular disease strongly suggests that dentistry and medicine
should be treating some patients differently. This lecture presents a realistic protocol for how busy dental and medical offices can work together
to better manage oral and overall health. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to incorporate cardiovascular disease
management into your existing practice routines as well as a clear strategy for communicating with medicine.
Learning Objectives:
• Understand the inflammatory basis for cardiovascular disease and periodontal disease
• Current oral inflammation-cardiovascular research
• How to develop an in-office protocol for cardiovascular and periodontal screening (which patients, what to look for , what to say, what to do)
• Develop efficient communication protocols with medical providers who treat patients with common problems
