For all the advances our profession has made in material science and digital technologies, it is losing the emphasis on which every dental
restoration is conceived. Understanding, visualizing, and reproducing proper dentate morphology, regardless of the material used … is the key to long-lasting dental restorations. In this lecture, techniques to create restorations that show how the principles of morphology and occlusion can be maintained using today’s modem dental materials will be reviewed.
Learning Objectives:
• To learn how proper morphology is the basis for good occlusion
• “Spheroiding” – Occlusal adjustment without destroying anatomic form
• A Linguovision” – The best way to visualize and understand occlusion
• To learn how creative treatment planning and case execution can “open the door” to alternative solutions for patient’s clinical problems
