AGD Code: 340 8 Hour Certification – Technical and Scientific
Suggested Audience: H, C Hygienists and Chairside Assistants: $200
This course will prepare dental auxiliaries to obtain certification in nitrous oxide monitoring, as mandated by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. It will present a comprehensive review of the history of nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation, stages of anesthesia, anatomy and physiology, characteristics of nitrous oxide, indications and contraindications, patient monitoring procedures, equipment used for conscious sedation, and infection control protocols. Upon completion of this course, the participant will be administered the required examination, which requires a passing score of 70%. Students not achieving this competency will be required to retake the entire course and exam.
